Password problems

Password problems can be difficult. If you have forgotten your password then you simply click on the “forgot password” link. This will generate a replacement temporary password sent to you, which when you try to use it should recognize you as legitimate and ask you to provide and then repeat a new password. 

If you believe you have not forgotten your password but it is not working is one of the following true:

You are using AOL’s browser to login
You are on a Mac using Internet Explorer 5 to login
Have you asked your browser to “remember my password”

All these situations are problematic with our interface. For the first two (AOL and Mac IE5) try using a different browser. We have found many AOL users who think they must use the AOL browser to surf the Internet, once connected any browser can be used to see web pages. For Mac users try Safari.

If you asked the browser to remember your password then this is not the end of the world it’s just that our security measure randomly encrypt the password and the browser is trying to use a previously remembered password which is not valid any more. If you clear the “remembered” password and type in your original password then you should be set. To the best of our knowledge there is no way to remove the “remembered” passwords from the browser.
